Riyadh Economic Forum opens 12th edition on Monday with five new studies
The forum, organised by the Riyadh Chamber, runs from 12 to 14 October at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, with studies on traffic congestion, smart farming and Expo 2030.
The 12th Riyadh Economic Forum opens on Monday 12 October and runs until 14 October at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. It is organised by the Riyadh Chamber and held under the patronage of King Salman; the Emir of Riyadh Region, the forum's honorary president, opens it on the King's behalf, Ajel and Al Madina report.
Five studies are up for discussion this time: smart farming with artificial intelligence and other technology for food and water security; transferring know-how to Saudi staff and what it does for local organisations; traffic congestion in the big cities, its causes, effects and possible fixes; measuring how laws and public policy support sustainable development and Vision 2030; and getting the most economic and social return from hosting Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.
The forum started in 2003 and brings together officials, experts and the public and private sectors. Al Madina reports that it has produced more than 57 economic studies so far, some of which became government initiatives and decisions.
For Riyadh residents, the study to watch is the one on traffic congestion, which looks at causes and solutions in the big cities. The reports we read did not give a public registration link or say whether sessions will be streamed.
