How to register your property in the Real Estate Registry

Registration has opened for 26,858 plots in parts of Jeddah, Makkah and Dhahban until 14 January 2027. Here are the steps, documents and contacts from the General Authority for Real Estate.

The Real Estate Registry gives every property in Saudi Arabia a single record of who owns it, what it is and what rights are attached to it. Owners register in phases, district by district, and the newest phase opened on 11 October for 26,858 plots in the Makkah region. These are the steps as the General Authority for Real Estate (REGA) describes them.

1. Check that your district is open: registration runs by announced area. The Makkah region phase covers parts of several districts in Jeddah, Makkah and Dhahban from 11 October 2026 to the end of 14 January 2027. Find your area on the announced areas map at rer.sa; REGA says more regions will be announced later.

2. Check your title deed: you need an electronic deed issued by the Ministry of Justice that shows complete ownership details and meets the legal requirements. Check it before you apply.

3. Get your documents ready: a valid ID, and a power of attorney if someone is applying on the owner's behalf.

4. Apply online: submit an initial title registration request on the Real Estate Registry's electronic platform at rer.sa and attach the documents. REGA has said initial registration on the electronic platform is free of charge.

5. Or go in person: owners can also apply at a Real Estate Registry service centre. Appointments are booked at bookmyappointment.rer.sa.

6. Follow up: for questions or to track an application, call the unified number 199002 or email infocs@rer.sa.

7. Receive your property number: each registered unit gets its own property number and a title registration deed recording the property's details, its condition, the rights and obligations attached to it, and its exact location.

REGA's pages we read do not list a penalty for missing a registration window. Checked on 11 October 2026.
