NCM issues red warning for heavy rain in Rahat and Madrakah until 9pm

The National Center of Meteorology has issued a red warning for Rahat and Madrakah in the Makkah region, with heavy rain, hail and strong winds expected until 9pm on Monday.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a red warning on Monday 12 October for the governorates of Rahat and Madrakah in the Makkah region, as reported by Okaz.

The centre expects heavy rain, very strong winds, hail, thunderstorms with lightning and flash floods, with horizontal visibility dropping to almost nothing. It said the conditions come from strong cumulonimbus clouds and are expected to continue until 9pm. The alert is one of a series the centre has issued in recent days as unsettled weather moves across several regions.

If you live in or are driving through Rahat or Madrakah this evening, stay away from valleys, flood channels and places where water collects, and do not try to cross running water. Follow the instructions of the Civil Defense and the NCM's official channels for updates after 9pm.
