The Chedi Hegra, the only hotel inside Hegra, Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, has opened a new restaurant called Nasim Hegra. The name means "gentle breeze". Fact Magazine and What's On Saudi Arabia both reported the opening this month.

The menu is contemporary Levantine, set out in seven chapters, with dishes such as bluefin nayeh, lobster kibbeh, baby lamb arayes, grilled octopus, spiced toothfish sayadieh and a 1.2kg wagyu tomahawk for sharing. Groups can order one of two four-course sharing menus, Taste of Nasim and Taste of Hegra, and desserts include a warm cake made with AlUla-grown Barni dates. Drinks are all alcohol-free, with mocktails, specialty coffee and Saudi coffee poured from a dallah.

There are several places to sit: the restaurant and lounge, which serves Levantine tapas, rooftop tables at Skyview looking out over the desert, and private dining. Nasim Hegra opens daily from 3pm. Prices have not been published, and the restaurant takes enquiries through its Instagram page. Hegra itself is visited on a ticket, so plan your table around your site visit.
