Quality of Life Programme added SAR 78 billion to GDP in 2025

The Council of Economic and Development Affairs heard that the programme beat its target, as the purchasing managers' index rose to 53.8 in August.

The Quality of Life Programme contributed SAR 78 billion to Saudi GDP by the end of 2025, above its target of SAR 77.1 billion, according to figures reviewed at a meeting of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs. Local content made up 44 percent of the programme's initiatives, against a target of 37 percent.

The council also reviewed the Citizen Account Programme, which has paid about SAR 262 billion in support since it began, to about 2.4 million beneficiaries.

On the wider economy, the purchasing managers' index reached 53.8 in August, up from 53.1 in July and the fifth month of growth in a row, while the business confidence index rose 0.2 points to 56.7.
