Tahaqaq, a service on the National Cybersecurity Authority's Haseen portal, has added two new checks: files and QR codes. Users can now find out whether a file or a QR code is safe before opening it. Until now the service only checked links.

It can be used on the website tahqaq.haseen.gov.sa or through WhatsApp on the unified number +966 11 813 6644. The service was developed with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), the authority's technical arm.

The new checks were added during Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October. No fee has been mentioned for the service.
