Drivers in Riyadh do not need to pay for public paid parking this weekend. Riyadh Parking, the city's paid parking service, said fees are suspended from Thursday 8 October until the end of operating hours on Saturday 10 October.

The service said the pause is due to technical updates to its system. It covers on-street spaces and off-street sites, including surface, multi-storey and mechanical car parks.

Normal charging is expected to resume after Saturday. Paid parking usually runs from Saturday to Thursday, 8am to midnight, at SAR 3.45 an hour after a 15-minute grace period. Fridays are free.
