The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) expects rainfall across the Kingdom to be above the normal level over the next three months, Al Yaum reported on 9 October. The centre's chief executive, Dr Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, confirmed that early preparations are under way.

To help with those preparations, the centre has introduced an "early climate briefing", which sends weather and climate information to government sectors and partner agencies ahead of time so they can get ready for possible weather events. The centre has not said which regions are expected to see the most rain.

Rain and thunderstorms are already forecast for several regions this week, and Civil Defense has asked people to take care. Residents can follow the NCM's daily forecasts and alerts on its official channels.
